Notes from the 3 best games in week 10 of the NFL season

The back half of the NFL season has been an exciting one so far. We’ve seen some crazy highlights, shocking upsets and some overtime too. In another chaotic week in the NFL, here are notes from the three best games across the league.

What a wild ending to a great game! The running backs on both teams were on full display and the last play came down to MVP candidate Christian McCaffrey. With only four seconds left in the game, the Panthers handed the ball to CMC and he was shut down mere centimetres away from the goal line. For those tallying at home, CMC’s 141 yards and one TD from this game bring his season totals to 1,385 yards and 14 TDs.

Aaron Jones continues to dominate in his first season as the lead back in Green Bay. He scored three times in this one and has 943 yards from scrimmage and 14 TDs on the season. Aaron Jones is finally free! Aaron Rodgers had an alright performance, but he has fallen behind in the MVP conversation. He went 17 for 29 passing the ball and accumulated 233 yards without a score.

You like that! Kirk Cousins has been on fire since he lost to the Bears in week 4. On the road against a winning team in prime time, Kirk Cousins played flawlessly and led the Vikings to a 28-24 win on Sunday night. Star RB Dalvin Cook put on a clinic with 183 total yards and a touchdown. Sitting at 8-3, the Vikings are serious contenders in the NFC this year.

Everything is bigger in Texas and the Dallas Cowboys problems keep growing every week. They were playing from behind early and weren’t able to take control of the game. The defense had no answers for Dalvin Cook and he made them pay for it. The offense continues to struggle under coordinator Kellen Moore despite excellent performances by Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper. They are tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for first in the NFC East and it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out.

That man is DANGEROUS! As long as Russell Wilson is on the field, the Seahawks have a chance to win any game. Wilson amazed all game and made clear why he’s leading the MVP race. I don’t care that he threw an interception in overtime. He still orchestrated the final drive that set up Jason Myers for a game-winning 47-yard field goal. Let’s not forget about the immediate impact made by Josh Gordon. If Tyler Lockett misses time with his leg injury, Gordon will be there when Russell calls on him to make a play.

Undefeated no more! The 49ers were the last team with a perfect record until Monday night. This defense is an absolute nightmare for opposing teams. The 49ers generated four turnovers with one of those turnovers going for a TD in the fourth quarter to bring the game in reach. I wonder how the game would’ve gone if George Kittle and Emmanuel Sanders were able to play. The 49ers will get an easier matchup next week against the Arizona Cardinals.
