- Pick a platform
To start writing blogs that you can publish for others to see, you have to pick a platform to write it on. Picking a platform is important because this is going to be the base of your blog and will most likely be the platform you’ll be using for the rest of you blogging life. There’s plenty of established sites for you to write your blogs on. Based on my experience, the top three sites I would recommend are Wix, WordPress, and Weebly. These three platforms have their own pros and cons, and depending on your knowledge with blogging and coding, one might benefit you more than the other. Create an account on each platform and play around to see which one clicks with you! After all, it’s free.
2. Pick a niche
You’ll have to pick a specific niche for your blog. From fashion, to animals, to fitness and food, there’s tons of options to choose from. Picking a niche is important because it lets your visitors know what kind of blogger you are and what your topics are all about. But when picking a specific niche, don’t be too vague and dive a little deeper. For example, if you’re going to be a food related blog, you could focus on something specific like desserts instead of trying to write a whole menu.
3. Network with other bloggers
Network with other bloggers in your community. You can do this by using other social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and more. Find bloggers who are in the same niche as you and reach out to them. Support each other and build a community. By doing this you can all brainstorm for blog topics for future blog posts! It’s also important to network with other bloggers to be associated with them. This can cause their readers to look into your blog and vice versa.
On top of coming up with original and unique ideas, capturing eye-catching photos and creating a searchable headline, these are three basic things you should know if you want to start your own blogging platform. Happy writing!
