NAIT has put together a virtual bookshelf in support of Black History Month this February. The bookshelf has 39 books and three videos that students can access online or in person at NAIT’s McNally Library.
“If we can help provide resources and share these voices from communities that don’t always get as amplified as they need to. If we can play any small part in helping with that amplification, then we are thrilled to,” said Carmen Reems, McNally Library’s library manager.
The virtual bookshelf is a collaboration between NAIT’s McNally Library and the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. It launched in January 2022.
“Our hope is just that these really important voices and writers and topics can be shared and read and appreciated as widely as possible.”
The McNally Library has no plans of closing down the virtual bookshelf. It will remain available for viewing after Black History Month.
