Football legend and former Edmonton Eskimos quarterback, Ricky Ray, has been added to the Wall of Honour at Commonwealth Stadium. After ten years with the Edmonton Eskimos, and six years with the Toronto Argonauts, Ray retired in May of 2019.
Although Ray was ready to retire and is having fun with his time off the field, he says he is going to miss a few things about his time in the CFL.
“It’s when you have that bond with your teammates when you go on a championship run… Just the feeling you get from that is truly what I’m going to miss.”
Ricky Ray, Former Edmonton Eskimo
During his time as an Eskimo, Ray broke multiple records and won many awards.
“You know, just to be apart of this organization and have a little bit of a positive impact here has been really special for me.”
The first Wall of Honour inductee was Tom Wilkinson in 1982. Since Wilkinson, there have been 30 other CFL players added to the list including former CFL legends Normie Kwong, Warren Moon and Henry “Gizmo” Williams.
