The popular Broadway show, Mamma Mia! graced the Edmonton stage during its farewell tour.
The smash hit musical about a daughter’s quest to find out who her father is before her wedding, brings three men from her mother’s past into her life. Filled with timeless songs from ABBA, and impressive writing by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, the show is officially saying goodbye to the stage after fifteen years.
The musical is currently on its Farewell Tour, performing on stages across North America for the 2016-2017 year. The show is one of the most successful musicals of all time being the eighth longest running show in Broadway history.
The tour made a stop in Edmonton on November 11th, playing three shows at the Jubilee Auditorium. Although it was not the first time the show played on the stage fans were still excited to be apart of the farewell celebration.
Karen Shailer, a fan who saw the show back in 2013 was excited to check it out for a second time. “My favourite part was when they played my last summer, brought back a lot of great memories. The whole thing was fantastic.”
