The Ooks men’s hockey team made some coaching changes in the summer of 2020. Scott Fellnermayr is the new head coach of the men’s hockey team. He has yet to get any games under his belt due to the pandemic. This year will be his first year behind the bench. Here are three interesting facts to get to know Scott.
Fellnermayr was the men’s hockey team captain in his last two seasons with the Ook’s in 2014 and 2015. During his final year as captain, the Ooks went undefeated with 36 wins and 0 losses.
After his time as a player with the Ooks, Fellnermayr went to Huntsville, Alabama, to play a season before returning to NAIT in 2017 as the video coach. In 2019 he became the assistant coach of the team.
During his third year with the team and first year as the captain, Fellnermayr finished the season strong with 41 points in only 32 games. With the four years spent as a player with the Ooks, he played 120 games and totalled 120 points.
Fellnermayr looks to bring a new spark to the team this season by passing on his player experience and tying it into his game plan for the upcoming season.
